UB receives grant from Siemens to manufacture software to prepare students for in-demand jobs


The in-kind donation, part of UB’s Boldly Buffalo fundraising campaign, helped UB mark its most successful fundraising year in its history.

BUFFALO, NY – Students returning to the University of Buffalo this fall are poised to benefit from an innovative public and private workforce development collaboration through the Siemens Digital Industries Software Academic Program, which will provide at the university an in-kind software grant of tools for computer aided design, simulation, manufacturing planning, robotics, product lifecycle management, etc.

Siemens will also bring its expertise to help shape the corresponding curriculum to best prepare UB students for highly demanded roles in the industrial sector.

Through this partnership, UB students of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the School of Management and the School of Architecture and Planning will emerge with in-depth and practical knowledge of the latest software tools used by hundreds of the most large industrial enterprises of the world. – including more than 330 companies in New York State.
