If you are looking for that perfect getaway vacation, you may have considered the possibility of renting a luxury villa in some remote and beautiful location. But there are just so many of those in the world! Ok, maybe not THAT many, but there are certainly enough to make selection a difficult task. So, I am going to tell you about my three favorite places in the world!
Let’s start with the island of St. Barthelemy, often called St. Bart’s for short. The island is located in the eastern Caribbean and is considered French territory. Most of the people speak French and use the Euro, so make sure to convert your cash before you go! The Island is surrounded by some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches you could possibly imagine. While the entire area is environmentally protected, most areas are open to human activities. If you enjoy swimming in the ocean, surfing, or just lying in the sand and enjoying the view, you couldn’t ask for a better spot. One thing I love about this island is that they treat tourists very warmly. They should, after all, since tourism is the country’s number one source of income!
For an example of some of the most beautiful Villas you could ever imagine, check out http://www.exceptionalvillas.com/st-barths. All of these are available to rent at a reasonable price, and all of them will put you right in the middle of that sunny tropical environment that everyone loves.
Another good spot is Aruba. This one is located in the south Caribbean, just north of South America. Like St. Bart’s, it is a lush tropical wonderland. While it may not have the raw beauty, it is very unique in its environmental and natural features. The environment is a dry, arid mix between a desert and a jungle. I think of it as one big oasis. Anyway, if you don’t do well with a hot, dry climate, this one isn’t for you. But at the same time, it is warm all year round. This means it is a vacation spot that you can visit pretty much anytime.
This next one is one that you might not think about when you imagine that ideal tropical paradise, but it is likely to be a lot cheaper than any of those remote island resorts. I am talking about rural Appalachia. There are some wonderful resorts in West Virginia that put you right in the middle of some of the most beautiful forested wilderness you could ever imagine. The local culture is also interesting, and there are always local festivals and events that can be found at virtually any time of year. What the area may lack in economic development and shopping opportunities, it more than makes up for in raw beauty. And if you like hunting or fishing, this is one of the best spots in the world. Here is a short list of some of your better options.
So there you have it. I hope I have given you at least a little help in your quest to find the perfect getaway! Best of luck to you all!
