RSNA and RadSite Partner to Promote Pilot Program for FDG PET / CT Biomarker Profile


OAK BROOK, Illinois. and ANNAPOLIS, MD. , December 8, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) partners with RadSite, a leading accreditation body for advanced diagnostic imaging, to drive the RSNA Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers Alliance (QIBA) profile for fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET / CT imaging. This profile provides qualitative and quantitative data for one-off and multiple comparative evaluations covering the full spectrum of oncologic treatment, including diagnosis, prognosis, staging and treatment efficacy.

RSNA organized QIBA to bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, industry leaders and now accreditation bodies. The goal is to advance quantitative imaging and the use of imaging biomarkers in clinical trials and clinical practice. Among other profiles, the FDG PET / CT biomarker was created by QIBA to characterize and reduce the variability of standardized absorption values ​​(SUV). RadSite will assist RSNA in piloting the FDG PET / CT biomarker profile in United States. A similar beta trial recently ended in Europe.
