This year’s continuing education program will also include over 100 hours of clinical training from top experts in the field of optometry. Clinical tracks feature key content areas including glaucoma, posterior segment and macular degeneration, anterior segment, retina, anterior dry eye, surgery / co-management, systemic disease and more.
Vision Expo’s comprehensive set of health and safety guidelines, policies and resources designed to support a safe experience, known as VisionSAFE, has been updated in accordance with the public health requirements of the New York State and New York City as well as guidelines put in place by the Jacob Javits Center, including vaccine requirements, mask covers and more. VisionSAFE includes details of all health and safety protocols that will be in place on site; specific guidelines for exhibitors; travel advice and resources; and frequently asked questions.

Vision Expo’s new neighborhood for brands with a unique, accessible culture and a respected position in the industry, The Atelier, will debut at Vision Expo East. The Atelier will be home to a limited group of sought-after independent designers from around the world and will feature a dedicated welcome concierge, exclusive lounge, canape catering, drink activations and live music. Exhibitors include Emmanuelle Khanh, LINDA FARROW, T HENRI, Tom Davies, the Eyeworks and Thierry Lasry, to name a few.

- The union – The ultimate shopping experience for those looking for the latest in independent design, this energetic showcase features new collection launches, pop culture-inspired collaborations and talk-of-the-show trends.
- Springs – A bold platform for the next generation of optical icons, The Springs is a true discovery zone and incubator for emerging talents in eyewear design and visual innovation.
In addition, The bridge, a main stage destination, will host a rich program of special events, panels and presentations. More information on the events taking place at The Bridge will be shared in the coming weeks.
On Saturday April 2, the Career Zone-Student Lounge, a central hub for students and young professionals to network with participating companies, will run throughout the day. Vision Expo East 2022 will also offer students exclusive enrollment benefits, including free entry to the exhibit hall and unlimited access to education. Vision Expo East will also host several special events, providing ample opportunities for attendees and exhibitors to network and socialize on and off the show. Prevent Blindness, the nation’s leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight, will host its Person of Vision event in conjunction with Vision Expo East on Thursday, March 31. The Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award recognizes an individual or organization whose inspired perspectives champion healthy vision and its importance to healthy living. All proceeds from the 2022 event will go to support Prevent Blindness vision preservation programs.
Vision Expo also opened applications for the second annual Vision Expo Global Talent Search, supported by eyewear designers from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (edCFDA). The competition aims to identify and support emerging designers and promote their talent to the vision community. Interested designers must submit their application by January 10, 2022. A winner will be announced on January 21, 2022 and presented to the eyewear community at a festive event organized by the edCFDA and the show organizers. The event will take place on Friday April 1, 2022, at L’Atelier. The winner will also receive a free booth at Vision Expo East 2022 at The Springs.
