Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) have appointed Dr. Lucretia N. Brown as Director of Actions. Dr. Brown most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent of Fairness, Accountability and School Improvement for the Allentown School District, Allentown, PA.
In this role, Dr. Brown served as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet. Dr Brown was the senior strategist on issues of equity and accountability in the academic, operational and financial departments. She led the district’s 1: 1 initiative, established the School Improvement Office, and oversaw Title I funding.
As Head of Equity for PWCS, Dr Brown will serve as a member of the Executive Office of the Superintendent and provide innovative leadership and management oversight to promote, advocate and maintain educational equity and an inclusive environment. . This position is responsible for developing and implementing short and long term equity goals that support the division’s mission, vision and four-year strategic plan.
Dr. Brown will lead the division’s equity efforts and maintain a culture of equity and inclusion for all students to eliminate the disproportion between groups of students in the highest and highest achievement categories. weak. Dr. Brown will plan, organize and lead initiatives related to diversity, equity and awareness; demonstrate leadership to increase the effectiveness of the promotion of equity and inclusion across the Division; develop and implement the division’s equity plan and serve as division leader for equity objectives.
Prior to assuming the position of Assistant Superintendent of Fairness, Accountability and School Improvement, Dr. Brown served the Allentown School District as Assistant Superintendent of Fairness and Accountability, district equity director and equity coordinator. Prior to the Allentown School District, she held positions in the Reading School District, Montgomery County Community College, among others, as well as as an independent consultant.
Dr Brown holds a doctorate. in leadership with a concentration in education from the University of Alvernia, as well as an MA in Urban Education from Alvernia College and a BA in Legal Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.
