The council named ISG as the preferred bidder in March for the planned three-school campus and now details of the plans and enabling works for a temporary school on the site are being presented.
It will be Cardiff’s first to target net zero operational carbon, as well as a significant reduction in embodied carbon during the build programme.
Located in the Fairwater neighborhood of the city, the education campus will become the new headquarters for Cantonian High School, Riverbank School and Woodlands High School.
Subject to a schedule to be submitted in September, work on the new campus should begin in early 2023.
Cardiff Deputy Leader of Council and Cabinet Member for Education, Jobs and Skills, Cllr Sarah Merry, said: ‘This public consultation is the next step in the development of Cardiff’s first joint education campus. and an exciting step for the future of Cantonian, Woodlands and Riverbank Schools.
“The enabling works associated with the project and the creation of temporary school buildings for the Cantonese High School are an integral part of the project which, when completed, will provide exceptional facilities, expertise and teaching opportunities for students, staff and the community. community.”
