The Huskers meet with City Year representatives on the nonprofit’s first day in residence in the fall semester.

January 24-28 is the first “Nonprofit in Residence” of the semester at Nebraska Union, hosted by Student leadership, involvement and community engagement.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, the Huskers are expected to visit to chat with another local nonprofit to learn more about their industries, internships, and volunteer opportunities.

You can find the organization set up near the N-Card office on the first floor of Union.

NE Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence

The Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence improves safety and justice by changing beliefs and behaviors and dismantling systems that perpetuate sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, harassment and abuse. other forms of violence.

Volunteer Opportunities Available: Volunteer opportunities exist to help with administrative work, help plan special events, and serve on committees and boards.

Educare Lincoln

Educare’s mission is to establish a high-quality, one-stop community learning center for at-risk children and families; establish specialized learning environments, which develop children academically and socially, enabling them to become productive members of society through research and evidence-based practices.

Volunteer Opportunities Available: Educare Lincoln is an early childhood school for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. At Educare, students can sign up to volunteer and help with baby room, administrative support, and writing birthday cards for youngsters.

Bridges to Hope provides home furnishings, clothing and basic personal hygiene products free of charge to the men and women we serve.

Serving Nebraska – Americorps

Uniting Americans together to tackle some of the toughest issues facing our communities while building leadership, professional development, and earning benefits like a living allowance and scholarship.

Volunteer Opportunities Available: Apply to serve as an Americorps member and perform indirect service at a local Nebraska nonprofit organization. Americorp members earn a stipend and educational award ($6,345).
