A community organization hires a general manager
The Waupaca Community Arts Hub has hired a new executive director, Laura Colbert, the former principal of Waupaca Middle School.
The Arts Hub was launched by a committee reporting to the Waupaca Community Arts Board in spring 2021.
It offers private music lessons for all ages and art lessons designed for children.
The volunteer committee that manages the Arts Center realized that a dedicated Executive Director was needed to fulfill its mission of providing quality, sustainable and accessible artistic programming.
The Waupaca Community Foundation provided a generous grant that helps subsidize the position.
“Laura Colbert brings so much talent, experience and passion to the table, we are delighted to have her join our team,” said Laura Reynolds, Arts Hub Co-Chair.

After returning home, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
In 2011 and 2012, she received an MA in Educational Leadership and Experiential Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
She worked as a director of activities in Fargo, North Dakota for people with special needs, and taught physical education in Aylesbury, England,

“The more people in our community feel a sense of belonging and inclusion, the happier and healthier they are. I am delighted to be a part of the Arts Center, to help its development and to be part of its evolution into a thriving and vibrant home for our community, ”said Colbert.
“The entire Arts Hub committee looks forward to supporting Laura over the next several months,” said Liz Kneer, Arts Hub Executive Committee member. “We have so many great ideas and we look forward to continuing to build the Arts Center. “
